Global offices given local autonomy with Trent: Interserve re-structures HR and payroll with MidlandHR contract
10-05-2008
|
Nottingham, 10th May 2008 - To underpin a large scale recruitment drive and the devolvement of HR processes to local business units, building company Interserve has signed a contract to implement the Trent HR and payroll solution from MidlandHR.
The project is scheduled to go-live in September 2008, with Interserve’s Projects and Services division, IPSL, implementing Trent’s core HR modules including self-service. Additionally, the company will outsource its payroll processes to MidlandHR whilst retaining full control of payroll data by hosting it themselves.
.
In order for Interserve’s local business units to operate with a high degree of autonomy, Trent provides local access to centralised data and shared functionality. In turn, this means that the company’s central HR function can evolve from its current largely administrative role to a ‘business partner’ model that delivers expert professional support. The self-service module assists this further by giving employees the control to access and update their own data and send in requests such as holiday and training requirements.
It’s anticipated that the new system will deliver efficiency gains by releasing managers and professional staff from routine administrative tasks.
